Why Not?
Our local Red Cross is accepting volunteers that they will train for a week and then send to the south to help with relief efforts. It is a 3 week commitment once there. I have emailed one professor so far to request accommodation for the semester. I can cry and wonder why more isn't being done, or I can get off my ass and be part of the solution.

I would totall LOVE to go down and have myself a humanitarian adventure. UnFORTUNATELY I've got two jobs that wouldn't let me go. Plus, my english teacher is already upset about me missing a week in october...
If you go, you must blog about it greatly. I sould so love to hear about it firsthand.

Anyway, I totally will keep folks posted on what goes down either way. If they want me there, and my professors will work with me, then off I go, and you shall know.
I am so proud of you for being so selfless. I wish I could join you. If I move home I will at least have to visit you while in such close proximity!
